ekgraphics client of the week – John Ridout
Posted by ekgraphics in Client of the week on March 5, 2010
John Ridout Biography:
Initially started Dj’ing in 2000 influenced at the time by Pete Wardman and held residencies in Oxford supporting the Slinky Tour and played alongside Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage and LAB4. Started Ringleader Interplanetary Productions initially for hard dance promotions in 2004
He then turned his attention to producing and started RIP Recordings, with digital releases alongside the BLACKRIP vinyl series. Working in the studio alongside Ben Kaye and Kampain and releasing under RIP DJs with Ross Self, RiP snorterZ with Ben Kaye and solo projects as Dennis the Menace.
Decided in 2007 to take his music production seriously and a complete rebrand of the label was required. Initially working with Nick Sentience brought about the cross genre style that became the Sunburst 2009 CD Album, released direct from Ringleader, along with collaborations on Impact Digital & Encoded.
These releases along with some high profile bootlegs, grabbed the attention of Killertrax who signed him to their label and agency.

Advanced photoshop magazine issue57 has a
double page spread featuring my designs and a
short interview check it out below:
“Emily Kemper is a freelance graphic designer based
in Oxfordshire, UK, specialising in designing for print.
Her work is a blend of light and colour, which is why
she is especially suited to work with clients like Pacha,
Thirst Lodge and O2 Academy.Kemper first came across
Photoshop in 1999 during an Art Foundation course ,
which led her to taking on a Graphic Design degree,
graduating in 2003. While herfirst commission came
through a family member, designing a logo for a new business,
she is currently working on CD artwork for internationalhard
dance DJ Scott Attrill (aka Vinylgroover), which will be
released in stores this summer. ”It was fantastic to get paid
for something I loved doing, as it made me really hungry for
more clients”, she says. Luckily, there are no shortage of
clients, with another project with a DJ lined up for a new
event in London.Photoshop plays a key part in the creation of
these works of art: “Photoshop is my main tool. I am always
finding new techniques and tools, which help me create different
and exciting designs. Currently, I am trying out the Displace
filter and love the fantastic effect it gives me.
I also love playing with blending modes and the lighting
of the piece”. This progressive technique means that her
style is also hard to define, “as it’s alwayschanging,”
but we’re sure that there are plenty more great things to
come from the artist.”
